Clos Uroulat

Wine from Jurançon has been celebrated since the Middle Ages. Like the generations of growers before him, Charles Hours of Clos Uroulat takes great pride in the rich history and quality wines of the region. Located in the south of France near Pau, at the base of the Pyrénées Mountains, it is a hilly, relatively cool area. For the dry or sec wines the main grape is gros manseng. It makes up 90% of Clos Uroulat’s ‘Cuvée Marie.’  The Clos Uroulat itself is an extremely elegant wine with the noble flavors of a great ‘vin moelleux’.

Bernard Burgaud

A dedicated, meticulous wine grower, the modest Bernard Burgaud is one of the stars of Côte-Rôtie. He took over the Domaine after the untimely death of his father in 1980. There were just 5 acres of vines then, which the Burgauds used to sell in bulk. Bernard has since doubled the holdings to 10 acres. He began bottling his wine seriously in 1982 and today produces up to 20,000 bottles a year.

Paul Janin

‘The Beaujolais cru Moulin-à-Vent inherited its name from the stoic windmill that has overlooked these vineyards since the 15th century. In the same silent, steadfast manner, Paul Janin and his family have tended their 60 to 80+ year old Gamay vines. Farmed using biodynamic methods, the Janins oversee the fruit from its inception in the vineyard to its final resting place in the bottle. Flaky, pink granite soil high in manganese (Mn) produces structured, powerful wines. With robust, meaty flavors shored by acidity that begs for hearty fare, Janin's reds have proven to be as steadfast as the Moulin-à-Vent itself, only gaining in character as they patiently age.

Niepoort

In 1987, Niepoort acquired Quinta de Nápoles and Quinta do Carril in Cima Corgo, a region that traditionally produces the best Port Wines; 15 hectares of vineyards were newly planted, and 10 hectares 60-year old vines were carefully maintained.  Our passion for wines and the humble respect and curiosity for the Douro terroir has defined the team spirit over the last two decades.  We produce the finest ports, from vintage ports to vintage dated tawny's (Colheita), and a full range of aged tawny ports and table wines.

Cambrico

Located to the north of Madrid, Bodegas Cámbrico sits in the heart of the National Park, Sierra de Francia, and is producing wines of intense aromatic quality and finish. Sierra de Francia is a breathtaking mountainous region, hidden away in a forgotten corner of southwestern Castilla y León. Cámbrico is situated at 2600-2950 feet, where the conditions are ideal to obtain grapes of extraordinary quality. The estate produces two main varieties: Tempranillo, and the obscure varietal Rufete, a cousin to Pinot Noir and brought to the region by Burgundian settlers over 400 years ago. The wines are all made from old vines (40 to 100 years) planted on terraces of granite and slate soil, formed during the Cambrian Age (about 500 million years ago). In addition to hand harvesting, all grapes are estate grown and farmed organically.

Muhr-van der Niepoort

On the Spitzerberg in eastern-most Austria lies the five-hectare Muhr-van der Niepoort wine estate founded by Dirk van der Niepoort, of Port and Douro wines, and Dorli Muhr. On this south-facing slope, only tedious, painstaking efforts are implemented in order to preserve its old, cherished parcels – especially where the classic Blaufränkisch variety thrives. A western foothill of the Little Carpathians, the Spitzerberg features soils of pure chalk with an extremely thin layer of humus.  Its distinctive terroir, together with the spiciness of the Blaufränkisch variety and a relatively small production from old vines, result in wines that reflect the tastes of the both wine producers: elegant, not pompous, and with structure, length and plenty of freshness.
